  • Cycle along a small section of road in Axminster was renamed The Trafalgar Way in 2005

At just over 195 miles long, starting at Exeter University the ride includes the Jurassic coastline (a World Heritage Site), past the Hardy Monument and then the cathedral city of Salisbury. From here the ride heads towards and into the City of Westminster finishing with a ride along Whitehall to the Admiralty.

  • Event overview: At just over 195 miles long, starting at Exeter University the ride then heads towards Honiton, Axminster, Bridport, along the Jurassic coastline (a World Heritage Site), past the Hardy Monument, Dorchester, Blandford Forum and then into the cathedral city of Salisbury. From here it is onto Andover, Whitchurch, Overton, Basingstoke, Hartley Wintney, Staines and in the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Kennsington and into the City of Westminster to ride along Whitehall to the Admiralty.
  • Use the free of charge bag transfer to Exeter. Please note we do not recommend that high value goods are placed in the back. Using this service is at the owners risk.
  • Age requirement: Age 18+ on or before 15th October 2016

What else?


  • As Thunderer is an A to B ride, rather than a loop, we advise that riders bring a small lockable kit bag/ruck sack with dry kit in.
  • GPS files of the route, in various formats, will be available to download the week before the event.
