Are you a business looking to provide a corporate team challenge or a group of friends who want a long distance ride? Team Colossus is a ride just over 500km, 312.10 miles long, a 24 hour challenge finishing at Admiralty House on Whitehall in the early hours. This shared journey offers team members with an iconic start and finish locations, beautiful and demanding landscapes, coastline and cathedral cities. Teams collectively ride the first mile from Pendennis Castle, Falmouth (Grand Depart) and the last mile (Grand Arrivée) together as a team.

  • Event Type: Team endurance ride (2, 3 or 4 riders per team) on open roads, including riding through the night following the same designated route as Britannia, Conqueror and Victory. The ride is just over 500KMs/312.10 miles long and riders are required to complete the route within 24 hours.
  • Age requirement: Age 18-68 on or before 14th July 2018
  • Minimum average speed requirement: 15 - 17.5 mph over the entire distance. This is on the basis of c3h30mins - 6h30mins of stationary time (Pit Stops, mechanicals etc) across the entire route or c15 - 30minutes at each Pit Stop or longer with fewer stops. Serious consideration should be given to a ride strategy and have a plan B due to a mechanical, fatigue, the weather conditions or other factors. Teams must have at least one rider on the route at any one time and may swap riders at the designated rendezvous points at the Pit Stops. The exception to this rule is for the Grand Depart and Grand Arrivée.
  • Recommended minimum pre event training requirement: 50 miles in a single ride with hill climbing per rider.
  • Event registration: Falmouth*. Ride information packs will be available for collection on Friday 13th July 2018. There will be ONE rider briefing for all Colossus riders on Friday 13th July 2018, in Falmouth at 19.15*
  • Event overview: A ride that is just over 500KM/312.10 miles long, starting at Pendennis Castle, Falmouth the route broadly follows the route of 1805. Riders will pass through the cities, towns and villages of Truro, Fraddon, Bodmin, Minions, Launceston and Okehampton before passing Dartmoor and descending into the cathedral city of Exeter, Honiton, Axminster - passing along a road renamed The Trafalgar Way in 2005, then onwards to Bridport cycling along the Jurassic Coast, Dorchester and Blandford Forum before passing through the cathedral city of Salisbury, Andover, Overton, Basingstoke, Hartley Wintney, Camberley and Sunningdale before heading into central London via Parliament Square finishing at Admiralty House, Whitehall.
  • Lighting Requirement: Appropriate front and rear lighting with backup power for the duration of the ride. Lighting is an absolute requirement during the hours of dusk/darkness and in poor visibility. Riders without the correct lighting for the ride/weather conditions will not be allowed to ride or will be removed from the event.

What else?

  • Teams should ensure any Team Vehicle is insured for at least two drivers and be able to transport all team members bikes
  • GPS files of the route, in various formats, will be available to download the week before the event.

Route Information:


  • +-  Stage : Falmouth Grand Depart

    All riders (including all members of any team undertaking Colossus) rendezvous at the start at Pendennis Castle, ready for the Grand Depart. Solo riders and Colossus teams roll out of Pendennis Castle together. At this point all Solo riders and one or two Colossus team riders continue to follow the designated cycling route to Rendezvous 1 at Fraddon. Meanwhile the rest of the team ride a lap of Pendents Point and then load their vehicle and follow the designated vehicle route along the A30 to Rendezvous 1 at Fraddon. For the riders undertaking Britannia follow the same route round from Pendennis Castle before continuing onwards to Exeter.

    Colossus Team members not riding the last stage into London, drive into central London, park up near the Admiralty and then ride out a short distance to meet with the rest of your team at the Grand Arrivee location, at Wellington Arch. All team members then ride together the short distance from Wellington Arch to the Admiralty. For riders undertaking Victory will follow the same route through the centre of London to the Admiralty
