What was your reason for wanting to ride the Trafalgar Way?

I have been interested in the Trafalgar Way route for several years after seeing one of the commemorative plaques outside Holland Park. I was really lucky to be invited to take part in the test event and check out the route

How would you sum up your ride of the Trafalgar Way to a friend?

It’s an incredible and historic route taking in around 300 miles of wonderful and challenging scenery between Cornwall and London

What was your most memorable part of the ride?

Hard to say as it’s all so good. Rolling out of Falmouth in tremendous gales filled with anticipation at the start, riding through the night on country lanes, probably the best bit was finishing the last few miles riding through Admiralty Arch and along Whitehall to the final plaque, seeing the sun glinting on Nelson’s Column as we approached the finish after an epic 24hrs!

What are your top 3 tips for anyone thinking of riding the Trafalgar Way

1) Train more to enjoy it more, 2) Wear padded shorts, preferably two pairs, 3) Don’t ride so fast that you miss the views!

What are your top bits of equipment or kit you wouldn’t want to ride the Trafalgar Way without?

Cateye Volt 1200 lumens headlight

What bike (make and model) and chainset / cassette set up did you ride the Trafalgar Way with (if available)?

Tri and Run Acqua (Triple 52/42/30 Cassette 13/28)
