What was your reason for wanting to ride the Trafalgar Way?

Having Served 23 Years as a Royal Marines Commando & a love of cycling it was the obvious challenge to me.

How would you sum up your ride of the Trafalgar Way to a friend?

A mixed bag of emotions that requires one of the elements of the Commando Spirit “Cheerfulness in adversity”

What was your most memorable part of the ride? 

Dawn breaking as I rode towards Basingstoke on the edge of the North Wessex Downs.

What are your top 3 tips for anyone thinking of riding the Trafalgar Way?

1, Drink plenty and often especially through the night. 2, Ensure you supplement energy food with normal food. 3, Have a power pack to keep electronics charged.

What are your top bits of equipment or kit you wouldn’t want to ride the Trafalgar Way without?

My Gabba cycling jersey, Warm as toast.
