I attempted the ride in 2019 but failed to complete it due to the weather. It has a great back story and was always going to be memorable.
The ride is a real adventure, super hilly out of Cornwall, very scenic and picturesque. If you can make it tothe sleep stop, you’ve cracked it.
My most memorable part of the ride was the leg up from the coast at Bridport to Sailsbury. I really had todig in there.
Top 3 tips. Arrange for a sleeping bag/blanket to be at the sleep stop. Carry plenty of food. Go steady on the Cornwall hills.
Top equipment. A very good front light/power pack. A good choice of warm jackets/leggings etc. An Apidura saddle pack
I rode my steel bike called Amaro, made by a friend in Bilbao. Campagnolo 50/34. 11/28
