What was your reason for wanting to ride the Trafalgar Way?

An epic challenge with a great historical link

How would you sum up your ride of the Trafalgar Way to a friend?

Best 24 hours on a bike…ever. A tough course made harder by the weather but great scenery and people to share the experience with.

What was your most memorable part of the ride?

Riding through Staines knowing I’d make it and seeing the family at the finish (not necessarily in that order)

What are your top 3 tips for anyone thinking of riding the Trafalgar Way?

1) Gear - good lights - both battery life and lumens & clothing for variable conditions 2) Train for the hills 3) be comfortable riding dark country lanes at night

What are your top bits of equipment or kit you wouldn’t want to ride the Trafalgar Way without?

Castelli Gabba Jersey helped prevent hypothermia and a pack of wine gums in Dorset went down very well.

What bike (make and model) and chainset / cassette set up did you ride the Trafalgar Way with (if available)?

Colnago CLX 2.1, 52/39 chainring with 11-27 cassette…gearing was just about right!
